Description
Run reps from both wings. Coach varies how late the help defender steps in. Driver must select layup, floater, eurostep, or kick-out based on the read.
The constraint
Driver starts at the wing, on-ball defender behind. Help defender steps in late from the weak side.
CLA principle
Finish selection is a perception problem — height, angle, and arrival time of the help.
Coaching points
- Eyes up — the help tells you the finish.
- Inside-hand finishes when help arrives high.
Common mistakes
- Pre-deciding the finish before the read.
