Description
Coach passes from various spots. Defender closes out at varying speeds. Shooter decides shoot/drive/swing within 0.5 sec.
The constraint
Shooter must shoot, drive, or pass within 0.5 seconds of the catch.
CLA principle
Time pressure trains read-then-react instead of think-then-react.
Coaching points
- Show the shot every time.
- Drive long, pull short.
- Swing on hard closeouts.
Common mistakes
- Holding the ball to think.
