Description
Offense outlets from a missed FT; defense sprints back with first-back stopping the ball, second-back protecting the rim, then matching outside-in.
The constraint
Defense is at a numerical disadvantage and must stop the ball before matching up.
CLA principle
Numerical disadvantage forces communication and rim-first thinking.
Coaching points
- First back — stop the ball, not your man.
- Build the wall inside the arc.
Common mistakes
- Sprinting to a man instead of the rim.
